WHEN IT COMES TO BANKRUPTCY PRACTICE, EXPERIENCE MATTERS.

My name is Kathryn Wiley but most people call me “Kat”. I have been an attorney for over 12 years. My job is to visit with people and help them get a better understanding of their options. Over the years I have helped hundreds of clients obtain a new start.

Over the years I have gotten to visit with numerous potential clients from every walk of life.  My angel as I will forever call her, Jane*. Jane came into my small office needing financial help but when she left both of us received a great gift. Jane had recently left her husband. Her husband was not a very nice man and he keep a lot of Jane’s belonging in the separation. Belongings that had sentimental value to Jane. At the time, I had recently left my first husband under similar circumstances.  Jane and I cried together but more importantly we both got a little solace in knowing we were not the only two people in the world who had gone through this situation.

Since this day I have helped many client like Jane who were just trying to pick up the pieces of their life after suffering through a traumatic illness, divorce, or death.  I enjoy helping people.  I guess you would say I was reared to help people.  My Mam Maw would always say your raise cattle, you rear children. Now that I have two small children I finally understand what she means by this phrase.

I have been around the legal profession my whole life.  My father, older sister, and older brother are all attorneys. Growing up I got to witness how hard my father worked to help so many people in our small community make their lives better.  So when I was trying to figure out what I wanted to do with my life, all I knew was I wanted to help people. Since I saw that attorneys were able to do that I decided to go to law school.

I have a wonderful husband and two precious little girls.  I enjoy playing make believe, card games, board games, watching movies, and just swinging in the breeze with my girls.

After my divorce from my first husband, I was lucky enough to have support of my family and friends.  I see each new day as an opportunity to pay it forward.  I have been incredibly lucky to be able to help people like Jane during some of the most difficult times of their lives.

I belief that everyone should know their options.  At the end of the free initial consultation, most people are just relieved to talk to someone and gain some knowledge.  If you would like to set up a free initial consultation, please give us a call.
